FAQ

In this overview of frequently asked questions, you’ll likely find the answer you’re looking for. If your question isn’t listed, please contact us at info@ankerstudio.nl.

How can I reserve a rehearsal room?

To reserve a room, you first need to create an account.
You can then make a booking via this page. Click on your desired date in an available time block. Adjust the selection by dragging, or fine-tune it by moving the ends. Then click OK.

All your details will be filled in automatically. You can also indicate whether you’d like to rent extra gear.

What is the difference between an account and a membership?

Everyone who wants to schedule a rehearsal at Anker Studio needs an account. Creating an account is free. You can optionally upgrade this account to a membership. For €10 per month, you receive a discounted hourly rate and can book unlimited rehearsals and make changes yourself. A membership is not required to schedule rehearsals, but if you rehearse more often, it’s more cost-effective and a lot more convenient.

Do I have to pay immediately when making a reservation?

No. The final invoice (including any consumed drinks) will be sent by email at the beginning of the following month, issued in your name.

Where is Anker Studio located?

You’ll find Anker Studio at Daalakkersweg 14-04, on the Sectie C grounds in Eindhoven. Click here for the exact location.

What are the opening hours?

Anker Studio is open Monday through Sunday from 7:00 AM until midnight.

Can I park at Anker Studio?

Yes. There are plenty of free parking spaces right in front of the door. If it’s full, please park elsewhere on the site. Do not park directly in front of the entrance or along the wall due to truck traffic.

Can I always load and unload gear?

Yes. As a regular band or with a membership, you have 24/7 access to open both the large gate and the front door.

Is there always someone present?

No. Anker Studio is known for its self-service character. Every musician/band has their own access and can independently use all facilities.

How do I get inside?

After placing a reservation via the website, you’ll automatically receive an email with the access code for our automated locking system.

What if the access code doesn’t work / the door won’t open?

Often it helps to gently push against the door while unlocking. If that doesn’t work, call Erik, Wannes, or Daan. They can help you get in.

How do I open the assigned rehearsal room?

The confirmation email after your online booking contains the code for the key safe above the coffee machine. The key tag indicates which room it belongs to.

What equipment is standard and freely available in the rooms?

The rehearsal rooms are equipped with:

  • Drum kit without cymbals (kick + pedal / floor tom / 2 toms / snare / hi-hat stand / 3 cymbal stands)
  • 2× 4×12” guitar speaker cabinets
  • 1× bass speaker cabinet
  • PA system (12 channels + speakers; no floor wedges) + audio mini-jack
  • 3× SM58 microphones
  • Lewitt kick drum mic + stand
  • 4× mic stands
  • Plenty of XLR cables
  • Music stand
  • Keyboard stand

Do I need to bring my own microphone?

Not necessary, but you may if you want. If you use a condenser mic, please enable +48V phantom power on the PA.

As a drummer, do I need to bring my own snare, cymbals, and sticks?

Bringing your own snare and cymbals is always recommended, but we also have two cymbal sets for rent (see rates). Please bring your own hi-hat clutch. We do not rent or sell drumsticks.

How do I reserve amps or cymbals?

You can add these during your online booking by selecting the required gear.

Where can I find the rental equipment?

We have a double cabinet with all rental gear marked with an “A” (for Amps). The key is also in the key safe above the coffee machine.

Can I play music in the rehearsal room?

Yes, via the PA using the audio mini-jack. Please bring your own adapter for phone/iPad/laptop.

How do I connect a keyboard or stage piano to the PA?

Plug one (or two) output jacks from the piano directly into a PA channel. You’ll find jack cables on the hooks in the room.

Are earplugs available?

Yes. At the bar you’ll find a box full of hearing protection sets. Please mark them off on the checklist as a bag of crisps.

Is there a toilet?

Yes, right at the front near the entrance.

Is there coffee or tea?

Yes, free of charge. You’ll find it in the small kitchen at the front of the hallway.

May I take drinks from the fridge or grab crisps myself?

Yes. Anker Studio works on a trust-based system. You are responsible for registering what you take. Immediately mark it on the checklist with your band name and the date.

Is smoking allowed inside?

No. There’s a covered smoking area outside at the front.

How should I leave the room?

Put everything back neatly, roll up cables properly and hang them on the hooks, take your cups and bottles to the bin or empty crate. Leave the room as you’d like to find it yourself. Lock the door and return the key to the key safe.

How do I properly close up if I’m the last one there?

If you’re the last person to leave, please check:

  • Lights and heaters in the rehearsal rooms off; doors locked
  • Rental cabinet (A) locked
  • Thermostat off at the back of the hall near the dartboard
  • Spotlights at the bar and kitchen off
  • Light switch next to the front door off (this turns off all hallway lights)

Once outside, close the door and press the arrow on the keypad of the locking system—only then is the door fully locked.

What should I do if my rehearsal can’t take place after all?

With a membership, you can change or cancel your rehearsals yourself up to the last moment. Without a membership, changes can be requested by email up to 48 hours in advance.

How and when can I pay?

At the beginning of the following month, invoices are issued in your name based on your reservations and registered consumptions. You can pay directly via an iDEAL payment link.

Can I come to practice solo?

Absolutely. There are usually small open slots every day for quiet solo practice. Check this page for attractive membership options.

Can I use the room to give music lessons?

Yes. The rooms are well suited for lessons, with enough chairs, a table, music stands, and whiteboards with markers.

Do I get a discount if I’m under 18?

Yes. For bands with an average age of 18, we offer an attractive 35% discount on rehearsals and equipment rental.

Is Anker Studio wheelchair accessible?
